Support

At Fostering People we are renowned for our levels of support.  With Fostering People, as a minimum you'll have your own Supervising Social Worker who will visit you at leave once a month, and more if required with telephone contact in between.

You will also have access to your supervising social worker so you can call then when you need to. Additionally, you'll also be able to talk to your team manager and our Out of Hours service is always there when our office is closed so you are never on your own.

Training

Even though you've been fostering for a while, there is always more to learn alongside mandatory training to keep up to date, we have an extensive training programme to suit everyone and the needs of the children.  We are a therapeutic fostering agency, using the PACE model, so if you haven't worked with this before we'll provide you with full training.

Free membership to Foster Talk

All our carers receive free membership to Foster Talk. Foster Talk offer a range of services for foster carers including legal insurance to protect against allegations, helplines to give daily advice and guidance, counselling at any time of the day or night, as well as support and training to help you feel safeguarded in your role.

Refer a friend bonus

We know that our foster parents are amazing advocates for fostering. That's why we offer a thank-you payment when someone you refer successfully becomes an approved foster parent. You'll also receive another payment after they've completed their first year of fostering with us. It's a way to show how much we appreciate the support that our approved foster parents offer to those who are new to fostering.

Birthday and Christmas presents

To help celebrate those special occasions, you will receive a financial contribution from Fostering People towards the cost of birthday and Christmas presents for all foster children in your care.

Paid respite

Everybody needs a break, so we pay our foster parents 14 nights of respite, pro rota, to ensure you have the opportunity to relax and unwind. Sometimes, you may not feel the need to take a break, however you'll still receive your respite payment regardless, with many foster parents choosing to use it towards the cost of a family holiday instead.

Paid for events and activities

Each region holds it's own events and activities, which are paid for by Fostering People.  Activities include informal picnics, craft sessions to trips to a theme park or local zoo.

Our training and support sessions include refreshments and a lunch time meal, which is our opportunity to socialise too and you'll be treated to a Christmas meal each year.
