Fostering agency celebrates their 20-year anniversary after delivering decades of support to family’s lives
Fostering People, an Independent fostering agency based in Nottingham, is celebrating their 20-year anniversary this month, following decades of support to children and fostering families across the UK.
Starting off as a small local fostering agency in the East Midlands back in 2000, the agency has grown strength from strength becoming a nationally recognised independent fostering agency.
Currently 56,160 children are living with nearly 44,450 foster families in England. Every year more than 30,000 children come into care across the UK, highlighting the need for thousands of new foster families. With decades of trust and experience under their belt, Fostering People are pioneers in the industry supporting and providing foster parents with stable placements that match each individual family’s needs.
Ahead of the anniversary celebrations, Fostering People reflect upon their years of support. One couple, who have been Fostering People’s longest fostering parents from the very beginning, have shared some key advice they have learnt along the way:
“Never give up, things may get tough and you may not always smile but you must. Something we instil into all of our children is to smile often, give thanks, think positively, laugh loudly, love others and most of all dream big”.
Toni and Graham embarked on their fostering journey back in 2000 with Fostering People and have since looked after around 47 children. Many of which have been on long-term placements and have remained in close contact with their fostering parents.
Fostering People have continuously supported individuals and couples 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, for 365 days a year for the past 20 years. Rated Outstanding in all areas, Fostering People aspire to replicate their years of support ensuring they provide the best possible care for their foster parents and the children they foster.
