Supporting you

We understand that, to succeed as a foster carer, you need to feel supported in your role.

We’re available every hour of every day to ensure that you get the help and advice you need, when you need it. We believe our comprehensive, flexible package of support is the best you’ll find. In fact, Ofsted has rated the quality of service we offer our carers as ‘Outstanding’ not just once, but twice most recently in October 2015.

When you become a foster carer with us, you’ll receive:

  • A comprehensive two-month induction programme
  • Supervision and support from a qualified and experienced social worker
  • Consultation with qualified therapists and educational staff
  • Paid respite and/or holidays
  • Regular local support groups, meetings and forums
  • Access to an extensive post-approval training programme that meets the Training, Support and Development Standards (TSD) for foster care, including the opportunity to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Child Care
  • A generous package of financial support
  • Membership of FosterTalk; an independent organisation offering impartial support and advice to foster carers.

We’re really proud of our achievements, but we won’t always have all the answers. That’s why we describe ourselves as a ‘learning agency’. When situations happen that teach us something new, we immediately build them into our practice to help further improve the support and services we offer our carers.

We’ve even created our own Foster Carer Charter, outlining our commitment to our carers and looked after children.
